At Precision Indexable, we have been designing and building custom indexable insert tooling for over 50 years. At the beginning of the indexable insert tooling revolution, we were fortunate to hire a toolmaker who had learned techniques used to make insert cartridges and toolholders. One toolmaker taught two more and it took off from there. We are still training toolmakers through our in house apprentice program. In the early years, journeyman toolmakers utilizing manual machines and prints produced on a drawing board carried the day and built batches of special tools.

As a company that strives for constant improvement, we have re-invested 100% of our profits to purchase state of the art CNC equipment coupled with 3-D modeling software and CAM software to give us the latest production techniques. We still have journeymen manual toolmakers to make prototypes, small lot production, repairs, and fixtures used by the CNC department. We feel that this type of support gives us many advantages to help our customers.
